Our Story...

Thiago moved from Brazil to NYC in 2021 to start a new journey pursuing music & also a fresh life start. He was soon hired at Fount to work with music. Shortly around the same time, I moved to NYC to pursue a career in dance. I attended Fount church and would many times notice how seriously cute the Brazilian drummer was, and though our paths crossed many a times, and by being involved in similar friend groups, it wasn’t until the early summer of 2023 when our story began being constructed.
Thiago invited me and a few of my friends to a concert he was playing in at Lincoln Center, we went and had a blast watching him perform. On this evening, I got the chance to meet some of his closest friends, the people he considers family here in NYC, and I got to witness him close up with his people. In this moment, I knew I was in serious trouble, especially when my good friend who was with me that night turned to me and said “Hannah, if you don’t marry this guy, I WILL.” (Thank you Mae)
The next night we went to a rooftop party in Brooklyn that our friends were hosting (thank you Malachi and Dorian), and Thiago and I spent the entire evening talking to one another and getting to know one another. We were full of butterflies in our stomachs, Thiago invited me out dancing and we had a classic NYC dream night full of laughter, dancing, and getting to know one another. That night Thiago kissed me in our Uber and little did we know the story that would unfold.
About 2 months later, on September 5th, after talking every single day and learning about one another, dreaming together, and even planning to create a short film together, at a picnic in Central Park, Thiago asked me to be his girlfriend.
Throughout our relationship we have both learned so much about ourselves and about each other. We have found such a beautiful community of people both within our church as well as in the creative community that both of us are heavily involved in. It is so beautiful to see how the Eternity brought two artists together from different mediums of art, to not only love one another and partner each other, but to create art together. Thiago and I have dreams of building shows together, and creating a life full of art and beauty. It is truly a story only the Heavens could have orchestrated, a girl from Colorado and a boy from São Paulo.
Exactly one year after our night of dancing in Brooklyn, with my parents in town to visit, Thiago brought me to Bryant Park and surprised me by proposing to me. It was the easiest yes for me and we cannot wait to start our lives together.

Thiago se mudou do Brasil para Nova York em 2021 para começar uma nova jornada na música e também um re-começo para sua vida. Ele logo foi contratado pela Fount para trabalhar com música. Pouco tempo depois, também me mudei para Nova York para seguir carreira na dança. Frequentei a igreja Fount e muitas vezes percebi o quão fofo o baterista brasileiro era, e embora nossos caminhos tenham se cruzado muitas vezes, e por estarmos envolvidos em grupos de amigos semelhantes, foi só no início do verão de 2023 que nossa história começou a ser construída.
Thiago convidou a mim e alguns dos meus amigos para um show em que ele estava tocando no Lincoln Center, fomos e nos divertimos muito assistindo ele se apresentar. Naquela noite, tive a chance de conhecer alguns de seus amigos mais próximos, as pessoas que ele considera família aqui em Nova York, e pude testemunhá-lo de perto com seus Amigos. Naquele momento, eu sabia que estava em sérios apuros, especialmente quando minha grande amiga que estava comigo naquela noite se virou para mim e disse "Hannah, se você não se casar com esse cara, EU VOU". Na noite seguinte, fomos a uma festa no Brooklyn que nossos amigos estavam organizando (obrigada Malachi e Dorian), e Thiago e eu passamos a noite inteira conversando e nos conhecendo. Estávamos cheios de borboletas no estômago, Thiago me convidou para dançar e tivemos uma clássica noite de sonho de Nova York cheia de risadas, dança e magia. Naquela noite, Thiago me beijou em nosso Uber e mal sabíamos a história que se desenrolaria.
Cerca de 2 meses depois, em 5 de setembro, depois de conversar todos os dias e aprender um sobre o outro, sonhar juntos e até planejar criar um curta-metragem juntos, em um piquenique no Central Park, Thiago me pediu para ser sua namorada.
Ao longo do nosso relacionamento, nós dois aprendemos muito sobre nós mesmos e um sobre o outro. Encontramos uma comunidade tão linda de pessoas tanto dentro da nossa comunidade de fé quanto na comunidade criativa na qual ambos estamos fortemente envolvidos. É tão lindo ver como a Eternidade uniu dois artistas de diferentes meios de arte, não apenas para se amarem e se tornarem parceiros, mas para criarem arte juntos. Thiago e eu sonhamos em construir shows juntos e criar uma vida cheia de arte e beleza. É realmente uma história que somente os Céus poderiam ter orquestrado, uma garota de Colorado e um garoto de São Paulo.
Exatamente um ano depois da nossa noite de dança no Brooklyn, com meus pais na cidade para nos visitar, Thiago me levou ao Bryant Park e me surpreendeu ao me pedir em casamento. Foi o sim mais fácil para mim e mal podemos esperar para começar nossas vidas juntos.
